V-Sum · Last updated: April 2026

V-Sum operates v-sum.com and studio.v-sum.com. This policy describes what personal data we collect, why, how we store it, and your rights.

Applications and nominations

When you apply or nominate someone, we collect name, email, company name, company website, LinkedIn URL, job title, and free-text responses. We use this to evaluate fit for V-Sum events and the network.

Event registration

When you register for an event, we collect name, email, and company. We use this to manage attendance, send calendar invitations, and communicate event details.

Portal accounts

If you create a portal account, we store your name, email, LinkedIn URL, personal website, bio, and event history. Authentication uses a one-time code sent to your email. The raw code is not stored after hashing.

Invitations

When someone invites you to V-Sum, we store the invitation code, your email, who invited you, and whether you accepted.

Email communications

We send transactional emails including login codes, event confirmations, and invitations. We track delivery status and bounces to maintain email quality. We do not sell your email address or send marketing email on behalf of third parties.

Recorded demos

Technical briefings and interviews conducted through V-Sum Studio are recorded as part of the demo process. By participating in a demo, you consent to audio and video recording, editing, and publication on v-sum.com, YouTube, and podcast distribution channels with your name, title, and company attribution.

Off-the-record sessions

All other sessions on V-Sum Studio are not recorded. No audio, video, or screen share content is captured or stored. Session metadata such as join and leave times is retained for operational purposes.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use v-sum.com. This collects anonymized usage data including pages visited, referral source, and device type. You can opt out using browser settings or the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to authenticate your session. These are HTTP-only, secure, and not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Who can access your data

Your data is accessible to V-Sum team members for operational purposes. We do not sell personal data. We share data with service providers only as necessary to operate the platform, including cloud hosting, database hosting, media processing, object storage, email delivery, and analytics.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR. If you are a California resident, you have rights under the CCPA. We do not sell personal data.

Changes

We may update this policy as our practices evolve. Changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
